We are a fully inclusive school, believing in the light of each of God's children and nurturing them to believe in their own light and recognise those of others.  We care for every member of our school family.

The moment you step into KSJ you identify with the distincive ethos, the love as we all learn together and there are many key signs and symbols around school that reflects our Christian character.

In all we do, this Christian Character and ethos ensures the very best outcomes for all children. We recognise and believe whole-heartedly that all children must be given the pathway to reach their full potential and live life in all its fullness.

      .

As part of our vision we aim for all God's children in our school to

Love; Learn; Aspire; Achieve

And we do this supporting and encouraging each other.  Love comes first, because when you love and are loved then you can learn, dream, hope, aspire, achieve and succeed.

Friday 2.45pm Celebration Worship - parents, carers and grandparents very welcome.  This will usuallly involve stars of the week celebration, Golden Book announcments, certificates and medal presentation, Golden Box Birthday with a chorus of Happy Birthday in English, French, Spanish, Welsh or Japanese.  School Prayer and house points announcement.  It is usually very busy and Mrs Jones gets carried away and talks too much!

All classes have an end of the day' class prayers and a lunchtime grace.

Dear Lord,

Keep us safe this night,

Secure from all our fears,

May angels guard us whilst we sleep

Until morning light appears.

Our School Prayer

This is our school.

Let peace dwell here.

Let the rooms be full of contentment.

Let love abide here.

Love of mankind, Love of one another,

Love of life itself and love of God.

And let us remember that

As many hands make a house,

So many hearts make a school.

Friday is a very special worship at KSJ.

We love celebration worship.

Parents, grandparents and carers are warmly welcomed to celebrate the week's successes as a school family.

Worship begins with a musical interlude to support reflection as classes enter with their class cross.

There is usually a thought for the week and a slideshow of the week's images on the board.

Stars of The Week are celebrated first and they sit on the special bench at the front of the hall.

The Golden Book is read out next - all entrees are encouraged to stand up in recognition of their success/achievements.  Parents, pupils and staff feature in the golden book and can recommend others to be entered in the golden book - reasons must be clear.

House Points are announced - House captains collect their token acorns for success.  Any individuals reaching the house point prize marker are invited to receive their prize from their team captain.

Certificates and personal achievements are also shared.

There may be announcements from house captains, school council, JRSOs

Birthday Box - Any birthdays are celebrated in either English, French, Spanish, Japanese or Welsh

We award the resilience trophy to someone who has shown exceptional perseverence or resilience.

A Prayer is shared - this is usually our school prayer, or our end of the day prayer.
