Being KSJ Mathematicians
Our aim is to provide a strong maths curriculum, which supports our children to become confident and fluent mathematicians. We also aim to present maths as a challenging, exciting, creative and relevant subject
Maths should be taught each day. The primary curriculum is used as a basis for objectives. Maths sessions will have a workshop style approach with opportunities to review, teach, practise, use and apply and review.
.
Differentiation is used effectively to ensure a personalised approach to the maths curriculum. Additional sessions are provided to teach a level 6 curriculum where appropriate. Creative opportunties should be presented to allow the children the chance to practise key skills in a range of stimulating and unique occasions.
Presentation is a key aspect to successful learning in maths. Teacher marking will show modelled structures and presentation as well as to support verbal feedback.
The marking policy is applied with immediate marking and time is given for the learners to respond to marking, make corrections or extend their learning.
