Introduction

Ann Griffiths - Headmistress

Welcome to Kingsley St. John’s School, a village primary school in the centre of Kingsley providing a Christian education for children who value the ethos and character of the school in both the village and further a field.

We are proud of:

  • Our sustained high level of academic attainment
  • The support and extension opportunities provided to enable all children to make good progress
  • The wide range of educational visits provided across the year including residential experiences and after school clubs
  • Our commitment to providing children with a broad, challenging and creative curriculum

But we also offer…

  • Small class sizes to provide individual pupil attention and support that includes two specialist teaching assistants to work with children across the school.
  • A Full time Before and After school Link club ON SITE that takes children from 3 and is available during school holidays
  • Close links with the ON SITE Community Nursery taking children from 2 that uses our extensive grounds and facilities
  • A family atmosphere that promotes self-esteem and confidence. In our most recent Ofsted inspection in June 2007, personal development and well-being was rated as ‘outstanding.’ This was echoed by our Church Diocesan inspection in July 2007.

  • We are an Artsmark Gold School reflecting our commitment to providing a range of arts experiences including music tuition, dance, drama and art.
  • The school holds National Healthy School Accreditation and an Active Mark Award reflecting our commitment to Healthy lifestyles and Personal Social and Emotional Education
  • We have a Bronze Eco award and are developing the use of our extensive grounds further with the local community
  • Multi-cultural education is promoted through an active partnership with a school in Soweto including visits between staff at the schools and we recently achieved Gold International School Award
  • We are federated with Norley C of E Primary School and have worked collaboratively to share resources and staff expertise.

We are proud of our pupils, our school’s achievements and our Christian ethos. Our children are happy and learn and develop in a caring and supportive environment. Should you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me or pop in for a visit…
