British Values

As of November 2014 schools are required to promote British values. Ofsted want to see a school ethos and climate that promotes British values at every level.

What are British values?

Ofsted define British values as:

  • Democracy
  • The rule of law
  • Individual liberty
  • Mutual respect for and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs and for those without faith.(often split into two areas)

How is this implemented at Kingsley St John's?

Our Thursday worship is a roundabout worship where staff move around to visit each class.

Mrs Gibson's worship will always link to British Values.  In the first half term 2017/18 she will look at tolerance.

See the working document below to find out how we, as a school, are implementating the British values.
