Being a British Citizen
Understanding and Appreciating British Values - Preparing for life in modern Britian.
Together, we listen, learn and appreciate our heritage and our contribultions to life in modern Britain.
We teach and prepare our children for the next stage of their educational development, ensuring life long skills are embedded as life is lived in all its fullness.
What are British values?
Ofsted define British values as:
- Democracy
- The rule of law
- Individual liberty
- Mutual respect for and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs and for those without faith.(often split into two areas)
How is this implemented at Kingsley St John's?
Our Thursday worship is a roundabout worship where staff move around to visit each class.
Mrs Gibson's worship will always link to British Values.
Our children learn to see themselves as Global citizens as well as British Citizens and as key members of our local community. Learning about what is on the door step, down the road, or across the sea.
March 2021 is the Census Count - Our teachers will be using this opportunity to teach our children about the imporance and the history of this importnat event in Britain.
